so the other day me and a few friends tried Kenka’s curry challenge. the challenge is you gotta put away 4 lbs. of curry (that’s 2 lbs. of rice, and 2 lbs. of curry) in 20 minutes. if you do it – your meal is free AND you get a free shirt (which you can’t even buy), but if you don’t finish – you gotta pay $25.

we all thought we’d easily crush the curry platters and walk home with champion t-shirts (an over-confident Cmish even said he’d get dessert after), but once we got there it was a totally different story…

the shit is just MASSIVE (it’s way bigger than your face) and it was intimidating just seeing them bring out the giant silver platters, much less weigh out the rice. by the time they plopped the curry on there, it’s like “oh shit, this is serious!”

during the first ten minutes I thought I actually had it in the bag. but at around 13 minutes i hit the wall and it was a wrap. i felt like i was gonna pop. all the prepping i did by barely eating that day didn’t matter – no more curry was going in! it was pretty much fails all around the table, except one of my boys (who actually ate mad stuff that day) who pushed it to the limit and crushed the whole damn thing. the whole restaurant was cheering him on when he did it – it was epic. Of course he felt like crap after, but he did get the free meal + shirt!

i have a new found respect for the Man Vs. Food guy…
