Jessie Ware full length in the building! Featuring the production chop of Dave Okumu, Julio Bashmore, and Kid Harpoon, Devotion does not disappoint. Tasteful restraint is what it is all about. After first coming to our attention on SBTRKT’s album, we knew Jessie Ware had more up her sleeve. Take some time and get to know what she can deliver.
Looking for an inexpensive way to protect and transport your Pioneer DDJ-SX? Check out Magma’s specially designed CTRL Case for the DDJ-SX! It’s made of durashock molded EVA foam and features a water-rejecting polyester exterior shell. It will even fit inside Magma’s Rolltop Bag. The best thing about it, though, is the price. At $69.99 you’re not going to find another case that offers this much protection for such a great bargain.
Atlanta based Deerhunter return to 4AD with their 5th studio album, Monomania. Front man Bradford Cox, who’s not always known for keeping his mouth shut, recently caused a dust up in the press by taking a shot at Morrissey. “Have you ever read Morrissey’s description of the Ramones?,” he asked Buzzfeed. “I will always be on Team Joey, and Team Dee Dee. I come from America, where Bo Diddley was born!” And while that may have been an offhand remark, it could not have been a more timely one. Monomania is stuffed to the gills with chunky, distorted guitars while the lyrics up the ante with their American imagery. It’s garage rock as only Deerhunter could do it.

Watch out fi dis! Major Lazer is back to free the universe! For their sophomore full length, Diplo comes through as solo executive producer to drop heaters all over the place to shake up the sound system. The Major Lazer sound is constantly evolving, but here it’s still rooted in heavy dancehall, fused with electro, trap, bounce, and all manner of EDM to mash up the place something proper. They went all out for the limited edition vinyl release of Free The Universe and pressed it on red and yellow vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with fold out mini poster and download card! Be sure to sign up for a restock email notification on the right hand side of the Free The Universe page to be the first to know when it comes in.
In addition to the vinyl release of Free The Universe, Major Lazer has teamed up with Kid Robot for an official vinyl figure! All the awesomeness of the lazer-totin’, universe-saving soldier known as Major Lazer is captured in this badass vinyl toy that sports his signature prosthetic lazer arm, commando beret, bandolier (filled with mics), and extra shiny shades. Kid Robot definitely got his renegade eighties commando style down! Sign up for that restock notification email so you can get yours.

Scientific Dub is a Clocktower classic! The Scientist at his best, dubbing out roots tracks with precision and skill. One of the standouts is the Dub Chemist’s run through of The Tamlins’ “Baltimore.” Check out the OG and the Scientists version below. Then head over to Turntable Lab to cop the triple colored (red, green and gold, no less) 10″ vinyl boxset of Scientific Dub.
Originally released in 2004 The World Of Arthur Russell, Soul Jazz Records’ comprehensive 3LP compilation of Arthur Russell tracks, helped to reintroduce the work of the storied cellist and avant-disco pioneer to the world. We were lucky to get our hands on a few of the 2009 repress and recommend that you get yours before they’re gone for good. The compilation includes classics like Loose Joints’ “Is It All Over My Face” and Dinosaur L’s “Go Bang,” along side harder to find cuts such as Russell’s amazing “In The Light Of The Miracle” and “A Little Lost.” It’s the perfect introduction to Russell’s work and includes plenty of tracks that will cost plenty of coin if you can find them in their original 12″ form.
