For my last day in Palm Springs I had the pleasure of catching one of my all time favorite drummers Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson from the legendary Roots crew Dj the Do-Over party at the Ace. His set was heavy in original samples/breaks, something I vibe on heavy..takes me back to the swap meet/thrift store days when I was on that never ending hunt for that perfect break.

Ideal day right? We wanted to keep the vibe alive so we made our way to the other pool at the Ace and relaxed as the sun dipped behind the nearby mountains. Later our crew caught word of a Blood Orange show going on at the same spot we were at. The following is what ensumed:
Blood Orange aka Lightspeed Champion aka Devonté Hynes killed it with a synth-pop-dance blend with guitar work that Brian May would have played if he were in the Beach Boys.
The topping on the cake was a suprise duet with Florence Welsh
