went to check the Natural History museum last week. it's a great blend of new and old. they still have many old school, Wes Anderson-style 60/70s exhibits plus mind-blowing new exhibits... definitely worth several hours of your wknd. this is old school.

this is from the newer section that explores the human origin. Turkana Boy is a nearly complete skeleton from 1.6 MILLION YEARS AGO! I was having out of body existential moments as I read this text. totally mind-blowing.

Flores is a mere 18,000 years old. This Hominid apparently lived during the time of humans! That's so Star Wars.

living in a screen image world, it kinda blows your mind to be able to see these things in person. extinct species...

when i used to check out dinosaur books as a kid, this low-rider dood with the spikey back was one of my favorites.

speaking of old stuff, check out the bench in front of the NY store. gonna have someone build us a new one (finally). bogman built this one back in the day. it belongs in the DJ Hall of Fame. anyone who's done the half-squat, this is gross sit on it knows what i mean...

lastly, the city is starting to get its summer stank on. seeing lots of rats in the east village and that smell is wafting up from chinatown. 13th between 1st and 2nd is especially gross... was sitting in a bar having a beer, but had to leave early cause of the trash smell and rats parading in front of the door.... it's only gonna get worse.
