I just got back from doing a weekend in Europe, and I won't bore you with the sordid details of missed flights, 18 hour layovers, etc. It was all worth it to play heavy bass music on the Funktion One soundsystem at Supa in Trondheim.

Lots of clubs claim to have "the best sound system in the world" or whatever but if I hit the lottery, we would be putting these in Southpaw. The only other places I've played on them are Cielo, Wrongbar in Toronto and Smartbar in Chicago (the downstairs of Metro). It's really crazy how loud and clean you can play on a Funktion One system, and it just sounds perfect. It's really a visceral experience to get to hear your shit on something this nice. They're really expensive and if the club wants it to continue to sound great they bring in one of the Funktion One guys every so often to EQ the whole system. Supa took it a step further and put in one of these:

I'd never even seen a Funktion One mixer before. The EQs are so much fun, I don't think I touched the crossfader more than 10 times in 2 hours. For more speaker porn go check out their website:
