NEW LAB RADIO (click box, duh!) This month my guests were…
MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUGHTS Australia (specifically Melbourne) is on fire and these guys are no exception. I really love their album and was really amped to get to do this interview. We talked about how they don’t practice, Prog Rock, being on the road with the Ed Bangers, their writing process, the Mighty Boosh and a bunch of other things. They had CD booklets that were more stacked than Michelle Obama’s ass, chock full of all kinds of shit from their own unreleased remixes to Enrico Morricone album cuts. Cool guys, schmoove dj set.
(thee) MIKE B I met a lot of people in my almost 3 years in LA (geez, was it really that long?). Of all those people I can count my true friends with my fingers and Mike Beezy is without a doubt one of the best (and the first return guest to the show). I already told you guys over and over what an ill dj he is, but did I ever tell you about Pool Crew? Mike and I spent last summer on pool party radar. If you had a pool and you were having a party, the Pool Crew was cannon balling your shit! He recorded this set in my bedroom almost two months ago but honestly it’s still fresh as fuck, with all kinds of Knish Hit Squad and Grave Leaf exclusives. We decided to end my last broadcast from LA with a 30 min talk session ala classic Stretch & Bob that was pretty hilarious. Love you buddy! Come see us back together again at MAJOR this Saturday. Don’t forget you can now listen to the show on iTunes... iTunes → Radio → Dance → Turntable Lab LA Radio The amazing Prince Terrence and I are starting a new weekly party in the basement of Webster Hall called Dance Class this Thursday, so go cop some Capezios.
Back in LA next week to get my Volvo and drive it back to NYC with The Arab Parrot (check the blog for full coverage). I'll be at Hollywood Standard Monday, La Cita Thursday & Teddy's Friday, but first...
