our continuing tour of nyc's soccer fields takes us to Randall's Island.
Randall's Island is nestled in between manhattan, queens, and the bronx. it is almost exclusively used for the sports as it comprises 30% of manhattan's sports fields. it's pretty hard to get to if you don't have a car. read more about it here. as for the game, it was pretty ugly. we played an irish (or scottish) team. they were excellent sports and their bench presence looked straight out of the Departed. shout out to the Shamrocks for a good game.
