Peter, Im alittle hurt that you would assume my records peak at spoonman. To insinuate that i blew my load is just crazy talk. One sided spoonman promos is just the level im on when it comes to shit like this. Yea, i set it off with spoonman. SO WHAT! Spoonman means nothing to me! Perhaps i'll back it up a bit and start slow. Will that make you happy? Maybe instead i should have started off with: My "Doctor Feelgood" 12". (its an import which is kinda like cheating but its awesome none the less.) Or how bout my Billy Idol "Cradle of Love" 12 with "Rob that the Cradle of Dub (Extended Inst Mix)" on the flip NO NO!! How bout my "We didnt Start the Fire" 12 with an extended version of "Just the Way you Are" on the b side? Ha. Happy Thanksgiving,

Woodman's blog is always an entertaining read, but the current "Cleaning Out My Closet" series of failed attempts at removing questionable records from his collection has been particularly spot-on. I too am guilty of rescuing absolute dreck from the dollar bins. The old Kim's (PS who's idea was that terrible downstairs redesign? Where are my dusty CD singles?) was perfect for that sort of thing. I'll see you that green vinyl Spin Doctors 2xLP and raise you a

THE FUTURE IS HERE! Everyone else out there trying to combine the formerly unmixable worlds of screamo, auto-tuned club rap, mall-core, choking and yelling at girls, pouring 40s out onto your cul-de-sac, Versace, being friends with girls who have never tried dancing before, and working at Hot Topic, hang it up... actually anyone else even trying to make music in general, don't even fucking bother, cause the groundbreaking musical mavericks of Brokencyde got that shit on LOCK.

The last couple weeks for me musically have been insane. I've gone to see some amazing djs perform and also have been fortunate to share the stage with some dudes that make me swooon.
Then we get back to LA... And I must say, Derrick Carter played the sexiest DJ set I HAVE EVER HEARD.
The next week, we went to go kick it LA's FIRST ALL DIRTYBIRD PARTY Featuring Claude Von Stroke, & The Martin bros. KILLED IT!! SO THEN THATSATURDAY THE COPS BROKE UP MAJOR WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR OF THE PARTY. ASSHOLES. So after all that rain and sadness came the sunshine and happiness AKA my Favorite, Laidback Luke at CINESPACE. here's a video.

A couple weeks back Catchdubs and I were having some drinks w/ Jokers, 1/2 of Nachos, Jess Jubilee, Margaret Trombone, and the Roc at Sake Bar. I had never met him before and due to his TTL blog musings was apprehensive to say the least. Dude won me over w/ his ipod playlist alone but was also a gentleman and scholar. I thought he was Scottish however.. Separated at birth?
23 OG points and a shot of Jameson for the Lab personality who can name the geezer in the bottom pic AND where he's busting off shots. I'll give a pretty obvious hint aside from the aforementioned fact that he's Scottish: "It's Grim Up North" I was trying really hard to save this entry for Blue Jemz ever since he yelled at me on the dancefloor during Adrian's epic album release rooftop/loft rave for posting after he did on the blog but the shame of being outed for this grievous transgression should do the trick. As for the Asian persuasion, my money is on Masuimi Max. And yes, I kept it tasteful for the ladies..

Saw RocknRolla this wknd. The character development and storyline seemed to drag on for the first half but once the action kicked in I had no complaints. As usual, the soundtracks are always blazing in Guy Ritchie films and I discovered the following joint by Australian group Flash and the Pan. The version posted has the dance scene in which the song plays so you'll get the context and who doesn't enjoy Thandie Newton? The quality is a little poor but the actual song/video kicks in after a few or just fast-forward.. This one by the same group is my favorite shit of the moment- For extra credit, the singer in the group is George Young, the older brother of both Angus and Malcolm Young from AC/DC. Finally, the bonus video. Thandie Newton and Ricky Gervais reading the script from the "Nailin' Palin" porno-

Via Soulman's blog...I couldn't agree more with dude...big ting's a gwan for Mayer Hawthorne.. "Yeah... like I have any idea at all what's the hottest schitt of the moment... I barely listen to anything new anymore. But I did hear this record right here, and I gotta say it's fresh to def. This dude Haircut- err, I mean Mayer Hawthorne- is kinda killin' it I think. 29 year old white dude? Just the very idea of of it is fairly illmatic if you really give it some thought (I didn't, but I suppose it would be if you did). I like this record, and it's shaped like a Bobby Caldwell record too! I am now placing this vinyl up on my wall as the new centerpiece of my Stones Throw shrine- the Baron Zen album will have to come down, unfortunately." -NN

NEW LAB RADIO (click box, duh!) This month my guests were…
MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUGHTS Australia (specifically Melbourne) is on fire and these guys are no exception. I really love their album and was really amped to get to do this interview. We talked about how they don’t practice, Prog Rock, being on the road with the Ed Bangers, their writing process, the Mighty Boosh and a bunch of other things. They had CD booklets that were more stacked than Michelle Obama’s ass, chock full of all kinds of shit from their own unreleased remixes to Enrico Morricone album cuts. Cool guys, schmoove dj set.
(thee) MIKE B I met a lot of people in my almost 3 years in LA (geez, was it really that long?). Of all those people I can count my true friends with my fingers and Mike Beezy is without a doubt one of the best (and the first return guest to the show). I already told you guys over and over what an ill dj he is, but did I ever tell you about Pool Crew? Mike and I spent last summer on pool party radar. If you had a pool and you were having a party, the Pool Crew was cannon balling your shit! He recorded this set in my bedroom almost two months ago but honestly it’s still fresh as fuck, with all kinds of Knish Hit Squad and Grave Leaf exclusives. We decided to end my last broadcast from LA with a 30 min talk session ala classic Stretch & Bob that was pretty hilarious. Love you buddy! Come see us back together again at MAJOR this Saturday. Don’t forget you can now listen to the show on iTunes... iTunes → Radio → Dance → Turntable Lab LA Radio The amazing Prince Terrence and I are starting a new weekly party in the basement of Webster Hall called Dance Class this Thursday, so go cop some Capezios.
Back in LA next week to get my Volvo and drive it back to NYC with The Arab Parrot (check the blog for full coverage). I'll be at Hollywood Standard Monday, La Cita Thursday & Teddy's Friday, but first...

I kinda fell in love with NYC again this weekend... Then Saturday night I dj'ed at Bembe , my favorite monthly gig in NYC. I do 6 hours straight, and as usual, it was packed, sweaty, and the energy was incredible. People were going crazy to my afro latin house set, and the percussionists were slamming away. After Bembe ended at 4am, I went over to my friend's Justin Carter and Petrit's Easy Lover Loft Party. It was 5am and people were still going for it. Lots of LAB heads were in the house too. Lloyd, Jemz, Spank Rock, and Neil Nice pushing it to the limit. Good times til 7am...
