I'll jump in on the summer reading reviews:

Just finished this book coming out by Dr. Dre's mom. Not recommended... the writing is what you would expect from someone who dropped out of highschool. I read it to get some insight on Andre's rise to the top, but about 3/4ths of the book is about his mom, and her endeavors. Her story about her life is definitely interesting, but her execution doesn't deliver. Not to mention, anyone who knows basic NWA history won't learn anything they didn't already know.

This book, however, is a a good read. I'm about 1/3 way through, and cant put it down. Sonic Youth fan or not, you'll enjoy all the talk about the early New York art / nowave / punk / hardcore scenes. Very well documented, and the writing is superb. Not to mention, there are some crucial picts of my man Thurston throughout his younger years.

In other news, I played my first game of Wizard Staff last week. Highly recommended.
