New Lab Radio! - Feeling all these eclectic jams this week. We put some of Madlib's latin jazz project on there, along with some awesome nigerian rock, classic disco, rare indian psyche, neo soul and more. It's quite a buffet plate of sound.

From the folks who brought you Life Sucks Die and Dre Day now bring you our brand new Burlesque of North America podcast. Click the logo above or right here to subscribe and check out mixes from some of our favorite DJs. Today we just uploaded a brand new red hot mix from Trouble & Bass' Star Eyes. It's 40 minutes of UK 4x4 and other heavy bassline electro stuff.

Star Eyes will be in Minneapolis next Friday night spinning at the release party for our Do it To it EP alongside heavy hitters Dave Nada and Bird Peterson and a large local lineup.

New mixes on the way from Bird Pete, Tactic, King Most, DJ Shad, Bitch Ass Darius, and many more.

If you'll be in the Twin Cities over Memorial Day weekend, this one is a must:

F- all that politics talk. I don't bump into Obama at Tompkins, see Hillary or "McCain Fries" making any guest appearances at The Lab.

Hell, I don't get any advice from any of those suckaz!

So with that said, here's my observational guide to TAKING '08:

1. Steppin' up your Epic-Nonchalant Picture game.

OR

2. Steppin' up your "My-Life-Is-Cool-With-Or-Without-Your-Validation" Picture game.

So after I got off work at Teddy's (name drop) last night, i headed downtown to this Harvey/Sarcastic party to meet Pube$ & Road Manager Barry. By the time I got there it was already like 2:45 and Pube$' punk "my moms in town" ass was already talking about bouncing. Since I paid $20 to get in I said fuck it and stayed to listen to the legend....

Cut to one hour later and I'm in the middle of the spot dancing my ass off all by myself, no friends, no drugs and no alcohol! To be honest I don't really dance that much, but last night I had no choice. I spent nearly three hours dancing by myself as Harvey maneuvered between three turntables, a reel to reel tape machine and a Bozak mixer (I'm assuming).

Why am I writing this? TIME TO STEP OUR GAME UP PEOPLE! For the last time it's not about photo shoots, headphone endorsements, who's the best at scratching, how many B-More remixes you've turned out, who your booking agent is, what hotel your staying at, etc. It really is about the music and giving the people a feeling they'll always remember and turn to when life has them trapped.*

-Raver Jemz

*unless your just another top-forty dj, than disregard this post, your good.

a fun thing to do is sing along with this song but replace the hook lyrics with "send me an email"
-then the next time you talk biz to someone you can wrap up your conversation with a little flavor..

OPEN LETTER TO THE PURVEYORS OF TTL:
As the warm weather approaches it is only natural to desire a few new t-shirts
for the arsenal. My "Joseph & the amazing technicolor dream coat" and "Dip me
in honey & throw me to the bears" tees have seen better days. Being 6'5" 270lbs.
means having a tight t-shirt game can at times be a struggle. Now I know that
I'm not the norm by any means but there are plenty of chubby lab custies that could
do with a xxl. Being under the impression that fatties don't shop online at the lab
is like saying no asian kids go to Stuyvesant High School. I realize that a majority of
the shirts you guys carry aren't even made in xxl but when they are please by all means
do what you can to help us big dudes out.

Yours Truly,
The Enormous Jew

P.S.
Andy you better check your tape I don't think serato or a skinny DJ AM existed in '02.

Diddy honored with a Hollywood Star

diddy_star.png

best line...

"I'm a definition of how to build a brand and a 360 model. I feel like I'm the definition of that," Combs said. "This new concept that people have, I've been doing it for years. Creating a way out of no way, making lemonade out of lemons, that's what I do."

"So if the music industry's getting cannibalized by the Internet, I figure out how to work with it, I figure out how to survive. You throw me in the jungle butt-naked, I come out with a lion's head, some bearskins and a bunch of food. I may be driving a Maybach."
