This was a tape Lloyd and I made years ago... "The Neverending Party part 2," for which there was never a part 1. We recorded it on Modemmex's borrowed Tascam 4 track and mastered it live by bringing levels up and down manually. In order to record we would have to rewind and play with the headphones on, mixing live and being sure to not include the back-cuing in the final mix. There was a sheet of paper that looked like a treasure map with all the notes of how to mix both sides down.

The only reason I know about new wave at all is because my older sister gave me all the tapes she made in college. Depeche Mode, Alphaville, Anything Box and Squeeze in the house!

I don't know where I got this but there were only a handful of hiphop tapes I had because I basically forced myself to like hiphop, but this one definitely stays in the top somewhere... Let me pee on you!

This is part 2 of my "They Might Be Giants Ultimate Mixtape" series.

This is a tape a friend of mine made me in college. I used to swap tapes with people all the time to find out what other good music existed (the internet at the time was limited to email and porn), and hearing all this trip-hop and "realness hiphop" in '99 was basically what made me get into Mo Wax/Ninja Tune. Whither thou, Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination?
