the rising fashionability of DJing has made it easier to get good gigs and to get people to come to them, but it's also made it easier for every cornball with more than 10 mp3s to get a DJ gig, making it harder for every Becky and Chad to tell who's actually a good DJ and who just happens to have 10 bitchin' mp3s.
favorite place to dj (or hear djs) in 2007?
Best gig of the year by a landslide was the last Saturday night of SXSW at Silhouette sushi restaurant. Me + The Rub DJing + complete drunken mayhem on the sidewalk out front featuring Morse Code trying to grab random passer-by asses + Ayres running around shoeless + DJ King Most and Ayres cake fight + Cosmo's JVC Force rappin'.
