my favorite trance songs to hear at a wedding:
1. John Paul Young "Love Is In The Air" - This was my theme song for WMC this year and it's now taken on a life of it's own, complete with a choreographed dance that goes along with it.
2. James Brown "There Was A Time" - When you heard this out, it's probably because I was singing it on stage. This shit got really REAL for me this year. James Brown lives forever.
3. Jay-Z "Roc Boys (And The Winner Is...)" - No question about this shit right here. Make me want to fight people, and then light all my money on fire in honor of my victory. La Chaim!

favorite 3 non-dj albums you listened to most this year
1. Akron/Family "Ed Is A Portal" - This shit makes me want to get on my gay/black/hippy/jesus shit and really put that shit into full swing for the '08. It's going DOWN.
Pixies "Dig For Fire" - I missed most rock & roll in the 80s and 90s but the Pixies were always on it for me. My big sister is due the credit for introducing me to them and I've always been grateful
3. Gil Scott-Heron "Your Daddy Loves You" - A lot of my friends have kids now and it's getting to that point in my life that I'm looking at that. Grown man shit is definitely everything it's cracked up to be.

what you like or hate about djing in 2007?
I love making mad paper for do what I love to do - playing music for people. I hate jet lag and being away from Brooklyn. Also I fucking hate going places and people expect you to be dropping whatever corny ass shit just got posted on whatever random blog or the Hollerboard that week. Fuck you, listen to this goddamn Peedi Crakk and shut your mouth.

favorite place to dj (or hear djs) in 2007?
As for playing in clubs, I'll leave it with strictly New York and say Southpaw, Love, Cielo and downstair at Apt. As for hearing DJs, as long as the system is good and the DJ is someone I like it could be anywhere. Also, I do love playing in Canada. That's the Land Of Milk And Honey.

My favorite Tang would be Tang of Shang, the first ruling king of the Shang dynasty in Chinese history who ruled from 1675 - 1649 BCE. He was a pretty good dude.

what did you learn as a human this year?
I don't know if I've learned anything that's particularly profound this year that I didn't already know before, but for one thing I've definitely witnessed firsthand is that all the success in the world really means nothing if you don't have your family and friends to share it with.

Getting married this past May. Nothing even comes close.
