From about 1988 to the end of high school in 94, I was an official hip hop purist in the land of twinkies (Tollgate HS where you at)... buying, dubbing and thieving anything I could get my hands on- from Mr Lee to Poison Clan me and my big brother had EVERYTHING. Anyway, like a lot of people, I lost interest somewhere around 95-96 and never really looked back. At first I was into the "classics" partys in NY but now the idea of a "92" party or some shit makes me want to put my head through a wall- I thought we had finally reached the point where it was safe to go out and not hear DWYK? I still like a lot of new stuff that comes out, and it even gets some itunes burn from me, but the early 90s stuff has been dead to me for a long fucking time.

And the point of all this? Go to Stretch Armstrong's blog and download that Nas demo. Un fucking real. Just magic magic magic. Maybe not so much for those of you that didnt spend your 16th summer blunted, getting coochie and arguing about what the best song on Illmatic was... but yeah that's that shit.
