Basically my posts have been non-existent because I've been talking to girls and going out. I think I technically had a girlfriend for like a minute. FTY: NYU International Studies majors who do a lot of coke are trouble... stay away. I think I might be into older hipster women now. I don't know, this is a feeling I've been dealing with as of late but I think I'm going to go with it. Basically if you're between 27 and 34 and like Siouxsie and the Banshee and are into the visual arts (excluding ceramics) I might want to holler. Get at me. Anyways... I went to the loft party where Lloyd was DJing at last Saturday. It was pretty awesome i.e. ladies everywhere dressed in prom attire. Incidentally this was a prom themed party held after some bike race. Some dude showed up naked with a car bumper... I didn't catch his story. I was just starting to mingle when the cops busted in and confiscated P-Gorgeous' ID. Shatterfest. I ride a bicycle now and it's pretty awesome. It's one of P-Gorgeous' old Schwinns that was being kept in our clothing room. Out of all the bicycle riders I know Gonz and P-Gorgeous are the elite of elite bike dudes. Their rides are pretty serious. As always: kind of joking but mostly serious, P.S. I need to implement the phrase "girl I want to break you off" into my vocabulary and be able to say it with passion. PP.S. A bit late I know but here's my 4/4 garage edit of "Throw Some D's:" Dr. Pitts "Throwin Crazy D's" You know this shit is big when PH is playing this non stop in the office all day. I was going for ironic yet playful.

As I mentioned before, I just got back from a week in CA doing some things for the release of the new issue of RE:UP (yes, I'll plug it again). Here are some picts...
Other highlights include bumping into Plug 1 at LAX, seeing Hollywood James put in the extra hard work at the Lab LA Store, In-N-Out about 6 times, The Turf Club in SD, catching up with folks at Stones Throw and Sound-In-Color, and of course, the highly touted Thanksgiving Brown single "going out to eat," which sounds phenomenal on a loud speaker.

wow. this reminds me of when i used to work at the lab. summer 04 to be exact. those were the days. strolling into work between 1030 and 11(schedualed at 930), myspacing most the day, packing 3 boxes an hour and talking shit...lots and lots of shit. i was the last to get there and the first to leave. i purposely didnt ask for my 2nd year raise cus i didnt want to have the "well, you havent done shit since you got here" talk. man those were the days! anyway, back then i had a radio in my bathroom and every morning id listen to the hot 97 morning show before work. i remember this show like it was yesterday. that summer everyone and their mother (myself included) was on the mad dash for summerjam tickets. turntable lab wasnt the over powering force they are today so back then average joes like myslef had to wait in line and/or smack each other fot tickets. enjoy. by the way. see if yo can spot ashy larry's voice in the backround. ha. always, ps. there's a huge loft party this sat in brooklyn. the no headphone policy may be in effect. if you have my phone number and/or email get at me. if not...no worries theres plenty going on this weekend. pss.people (white) kill me sometimes. im quik to give you guys mad credit for your amazing feats (ex: freeing the slaves) but then i see some shit like this...wtf people(white)? psss. the reason i quit drunk dialing.

They know that if they want to act a fool while we're out they are going to get caught. So here are two of my favorite people Nemiss (first lady) and T Kat (brotha from anotha) tearing the club up. jeff mills is playing at pacha this friday, and i might crap my pants. don't know who jeff mills is? better get yourself on to discogs, youtube up "purpose maker mix", and get ready for a mind-fuck. and for those that know, he's also "the wizard" of detroit funk / hiphop / house radio fame. yeah, being from detroit, i've seen him a gazillion times...but this time he's doing his "one man spaceship" tour. now, i'm not entirely sure he'll replicate the insane setup he has going on in this picture, but even if he doesn't, he'll drop some serious knowledge on you. it makes me love techno more and more...

TIESTO's! fame started to skyrocket in the late 1990s by playing at the first ID&T Innercity party, and in the early 2000s for his six-hour "TIESTO! Solo" sets which TIESTO! performed without other DJs or opening acts. This idea, of one DJ playing alone to a large crowd, was brought to its pinnacle when TIESTO! was the first DJ to hold a solo concert in a stadium. On May 10, 2003, he performed for over 25,000 people in Arnhem's Gelredome. Dubbed "TIESTO! in Concert", the event was an enormous success for Verwest. TIESTO! repeated this type of concert in the next year during two consecutive nights in late October. In addition to holding these two concerts for 35,000 of his fans, he held another for 20,000 in Hasselt, Belgium the week afterwards. DVDs of both his May 10 2003 and October 30, 2004 concerts have been released. In 2007 TIESTO! will return to the large scale gigs, announcing the Elements of Life tour. Several dates have been confirmed so far. One in the Kings Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom on 31 March and the other in the Ethias Arena in Hasselt, Belgium on 19 May. On May 31, June 1 and 2 2007 he will perform another three live shows at Gelredome in three consecutive nights. As of April 6 2007 TIESTO! will start presenting a new weekly 2 hour radio show called "Club Nouveau" on Dutch radio station Radio 538 (stream @ www.radio538.nl). The show will be broadcasted on Friday night between 22.00 and midnight (GMT+1) and will supposedly also be available worldwide as a 2 hour podcast.(RECOMMENDED!) TIESTO's! motto is: "I feel the energy from the crowd and I try to give it back."

Justice came about in 2003, when Gaspard Auge (aka "The Moustache") and Xavier de Rosnay (aka "The China") met in the kitchen of a packed house party and found a mutual love for spitting beer in girls' hair. The two soon met Pedro Winter - notorious rainbow man and founder of Ed Banger Records - who was one of the first to hear their then-just-completed bedroom remix of Simian's "Never Be Alone." Like most of the people who would hear it over the next couple years, Pedro instantly loved the track, and as it spread far and wide, being spun by DJs like Soulwax, Miss Kittin, Tiga and Erol Alkan, and hated on (video-wise) by folks like Kanye West. Lab heads will pretty much know the story from there (Waters of Nazareth EP, crazy live shows, Ed Banger exploding), but Vice wanted us to pass along the info on the next big wave in the Parisian invasion: Justice's debut full-length will be released on July 10, and the title is... (Don't ask us how to pronounce it.) Check out the first single from the album, "D.A.N.C.E.," which is so good that we've heard several stories in the past few weeks about DJs bumping shitty low-bitrate web rips in their sets. And of course, if you really cant't wait 'til July for yer Justice, you can get the new Ed Rec, Vol.2 comp RIGHT NOW, which includes the Justice track "Phantom."
