so i just got back from the Magic Tradeshow in Vegas...
the Streetwear boom is in full effect, the most buzz was surrounding Magic's "streetwear" section...
1) everybody and their momma's momma has a t-shirt line
2) there are more terrible lines than quality ones
3) fronting is prevalent
4) all-over is running on fumes
5) but through it all, more companies means more selection, I also saw the most quality stuff that I've seen at Magic... look for a bunch of new lines hitting the lab pages this spring.

i didn't take any pictures of the madness, I'm sure you know where to go for those...

here's me and stony's side of vegas...

i don't care if you hate sports or tv, sportsbooks are breath-taking. it's like you're god and you have every sporting event at your call, complete with instantly updated lines. we got there too late to bet on anything, so we just sat and oogled at the many screens while eating pastrami sandwiches... next year, we have to hit march madness.

after the sportsbook, stony hit the tables while I wandered around the casino (i don't play blackjack anymore, I think I'm cosmically unlucky at it). I went to hit the bathroom and these 2 burly guys were wrestling at the entrance. I thought they were just playing, but dudes started punching each other in the face. still, I didn't know what was going on, it was like slow motion punches. then, in one blow, one dude knocked out the other, and kept punching him... at this point, I thought to myself: "this would be awesome for the blog!" and took this picture. shit never seemed real until dude was on the ground bleeding. everyone around me just stood there watching... dude hijacked it out of there, and all that was left was a blood stain and some teeth on the ground...

I had heard rumors that the mighty Crazy Horse Too had fallen off, but I have had so many excellent times there I had to go see it for myself... it's true, the place is not what it once was, but it's still way better than anything in nyc. it took me and stony a good hour to get comfortable, but by the end, we were dragging each other out.

at magic, you're bound to see some stars promoting their lines... this one was too incredible to pass up... Tera Patrick touched me!

and I'm not one to floss about celebrity photos, but this one is too cool... met Mikhail Baryshnikov. look for the upcoming money studies collabo....

and last but not least, got to give a shout to my cab driver, who took me from newark back to the city... he was an old italian man, who had moved here 6 years ago. we got to talking about life, and he told me about how his family business went under and he was forced to drive this cab to support his kids through college... I asked him if he was going back after they graduated, and he replied: "of course..." I asked why, and he dropped this jewel on me: "italians work to live, people here work to die..." (typed as I am sitting in the office at 11pm, ha-ha....)
