Holy Yammi Bolos! This had everyone in the office in stiches. Due to my constant complaining of having no wrist pad, Snack scored this little beaut for me as an early Christmas gift on Ebay. Never before have I received anything so thoughtful. Now my endless hours of uploading audio for you fiends, will be eased by the squishy pillows of this delightful babe. Not to mention, it makes an attractive desk piece and makes me more productive. I think I'll name her Janine. Holiday gift givers take note. The key here is personal and useful.

so I'm back in NY now, for good. Looking for an apartment (sucks), trying to get used to grey weather and tall buildings (sucks), really loud shit happening in the street all the time (sucks), and working back in the office (fucking awesome). It actually aint that bad, and Im kinda psyched to be back in a city thats awake. Anyway I never did a goodbye LA blog, but here's the Halloween pics I shoulda posted a month ago.
that night was super hectic. first we had a Justice in-store (like the day before they won that euro vma), which was kinda small due to it being Halloween and everything, but those guys played a great set and everybody had fun. Free beer and lots of candy, sorry no pics. Then we had to rush down to Venice Beach for our party with Stussy at the Nike Blue House. It's literally a house, right on the boardwalk, converted into party space with artwork all over the place, great system, outdoor space, the works. Blu Jemz, Willie The Gaslamp Killer & Chromeo DJed for us. Costume required:
I got some more LA shit I'll try to upload later.... everybody out there, I miss y'all already.

From a new Billboard article: Lately, as evidenced by Jay-Z's recent trip to Africa as part of his Water for Life campaign, he could be improving lives on a scale far exceeding the music industry. In the Kawara state of Nigeria, "they crowned him King of All Music," says DJ Green Lantern, who served as Jay-Z's recent tour DJ. "They wrapped him up in traditional layers like a king, and he had to ride a horse. It was literally almost 100 degrees, and they kept adding layer upon layer. But he was very diplomatic." "Very diplomatic??" GREEN LANTERN, KING OF SUBLIMINALS.

Do I suck for kind of wanting to buy this? It's like, every 2 steps I take forward I take one giant one back. I'm no "loop digga." I don't get off on "crates of wax." But I still kind of want to buy this poster. This is indicative of my life. For example! My life: my new look is "scraggly ex-boyfriend." So I'm growing out my head-hair, and I'm wearing a shirt and tie every day. But then I'll do some shit like wear a Giant Robot hoodie that's like 2 sizes too big. Not gonna be kicking poon off of me with that one! I'm also listening to Led Zeppelin now because I'm reading "Hammer of the Gods" (best book ever). I know Kyle relates because Led Zeppelin I is like his favorite album ever. But dude, am I a fucking high school student? No but here I am, air-guitaring on the subway to Dazed and Confused. I guess it beats buying every record on the Cut Copy fabriclive CD? I'm kind of over being self-deprecating so I wouldn't know.

White Castle, that's funny. We were fiendin' for a junk fix here too. So, we set precedent with this. Instead of frequenting the bomb deli down the street, great italian food, and hot thai food, that we've pretty much played out, we all quenched our itchin' for a Wendy's feast by pitching in on a car service to drive us 2 miles to the nearest spot. When me and Snack came through the door with the two 30lbs bags it was Hyenas in here! Greasy bacon cheeseburgers were everywhere, fries, nuggets and frosties were flowin', and moral was at an all time high. Yeaaaahhh.

i like how you put a nice little hex on your sexy time.
speaking of shattered encounters, the friggin mice are back in casa de Lloyd and P.Gorg. not a good look. they're gonna see the wrong side of the glue trap fer shure. No longer working at the lab makes me miss the King of Sexy Time Theater, the SIZ. although he did have his stories about love making, the best tales revolved largely around getting totally destroyed and fighting frightened strangers who "instigated" something with the "innocent" Sizzy. Greatest hits involved flaming backpacks, drinking 40s on Sunday morning in Chinatown, K-holes, bricks to the face, robbing drug dealers, getting run over by an intern, dorito teeth breakage, distorted sub-bass, skating like a 15 year old when you're over thirty, and fucking all night. it's hard to fully grasp the full persona by one lousy, already posted headshot. an end of an era. you're the king, baby.
i cAN HEAR the mice running around on my rangetop. i'm out. -p

MY TOP FIVE SEXY TIME JAMS OF THE MOMENT
1. Bar-Kays "It Be That Way Sometimes" I have a sexy time dinner date this weekend. I'm kind of pumped (dinner jacket + flowers). I hollered at the girl at the MOMA last week and pretty much hit it off... so to speak. I look good in a dinner jacket. Holler at me if you're interested in being a part of my short illustrated book "Collecting Records, DJing, and Talking To Girls." Q and A, tips, how to get organized (in all the right areas)... you know stuff like that. I'm planning for this to be informative and helpful. Shout out to everyone who told me what that track was I was asking about last week. Thanks. Too bad I can't get it from a distributor or else we'd be carrying that one. Does anyone have some raw disco laser samples they could send me? I don't know where my USB cable is or else I'd also be uploading some pictures of me in my new robe. I was wearing that shit all Sunday encoding audio. Mad comfortable. I just need some good slippers now. "Girl I swore I loved you..."

fuck a whip.... for thos of you who dont know i (Lloyd Dicky Harris) am probably the only person (24 years and older) in the United states on America who doesnt know how to drive. i wish i was kidding but if you were to leave me in the middle of the desert with a jeep, several tanks of gas and the keys to drive it i would be completely assed out. so anyway, tonight was as ordinary as any other night. other then figuring how to work the micraphone at the W Hotel and acting mad niggerish over the loud system for 4 hours straight i dj'd, i drank some dranks, mingled with the civilians and went home in a cab. when you live as far in BK as i do its common practice to conversate with your driver. i did the usual...hello, how was your night, awesome, you own this cab, awesome, blah blah blah....anyway, a 15 min conversation turned into me sitting in the drivers seat while the cab driver (Varaitch Resham) taught me how to drive in park slope for 40 bucks.(crazy right!?) anyway, I never thought id say this but driving is overratted. matter fact it aint shit! with all the traffic lights, stop signs and padestrians how the fuck they expect a nigga to get loose. its oppressive, demeaning and im already over it. fuck a whip! fact. i actually sat in the drivers seat (while in park) for about 30 seconds before Varaitch and i realized it was such a bad idea. whatever...i still cant drive. always,

The Dems are about to storm the House, and that's definitely a good thing (or at least a better thing than the GOP keeping their fat asses planted where they were). But the finest moment of Super Tuesday was when my home state of Massachusetts elected its first black governor. It's a good look on so many fronts -- you'll all find out what a retard our ex-governor Mitt Romney is when he runs for President in 2008 -- but given Boston's infamous reputation on all things racial, it really instilled an extra sense of hometown pride in me. In even better news: PEACE, RUMMY!

I was on my way home on Friday after work and noticed music playing at this place on Delancy. Incidentally I worked my way in (this was some list only shit) saying that I work at Turntable Lab and was the Director of Marketing. Anyways I get in, drink a bunch of free Red Stripe, and catch the rest of Ayers DJ set. I then see on the list of who goes next and see that MSTRKRFT is playing. Fuck yeah, I was pretty pumped cause I missed them the night before at Hiro… I only stayed for Digitalism. Even though they only DJed, they still killed, MSTRKRFT gets my overall approval. Digitalism "Zdarlight" Live at Fixed New York City CMJ 2006 I saw Digitalism twice this week (Hiro Ballroom and Studio B). They pretty much destroyed both places. That live Zdarlight re-edit killed and well as hearing Jupiter Room really loud. Justice, which played at Studio B, was a let down. Step you game up bros. I think I’ve just about seen all of what Ed Banger records and affiliates have to offer and hands down Para One is the man when it comes to DJ-ing (he pretty much killed at that Ed Banger party a few months back) and Uffie’s live performance is actually good too, not just another Stacey Q studio girl if you know what I mean. Feadz was good as well, technically, that Ed Banger party was pretty much off the hook all around. I don’t know I guess Justice was alright, I was just a little pissed cause they blew their load and opened up with Waters of Nazareth cause that’s some peak time shit right there. Oh and I NEED TO KNOW what that “GIVE IT UP FOR DETROIT” track people were playing on Thursday at Hiro and at the Fader party (MSTRKRFT played it too). That is some really hot shit right there. Drpitts ….. @... gmail.com The blog is mad quiet with the Roc MIA and Pete on vaykay. Shout of to Rob from the record fair this weekend. Dude reads the blog. I bought a lot of grown and sexy disco jams off of him on Saturday. Also shout out the guy from Brooklyn Radio who was at the Justice show on Saturday and Brandon the old intern who was at the Fader party. Oh and the record fair this past weekend was VERY NERDY. Dudes were talking about 300 dollar jazz records and shit. Whatever, I did get a lot of original disco 12s and Smiths singles I didn’t have. And on top of that I didn’t really spend that much money. Score! And last but not least shout out to Carrie and Timex Social Club.

I seriously haven't enjoyed listening to a whole album this much in a long, long time. Someone has to say this every time a new Tom Waits album comes out, but seriously... best one since Rain Dogs? I'm pretty sure it is. The first disc is loaded with crazy rock songs that make him sound younger than he has in 20 years. Then the other two discs are kinda back to his old creepy uncle shtick, but there's nothing wrong with that either. Just saying... I'm sure we won't be carrying this one, but it's worth seeking out if you're someone who can handle 3 CDs full of Tom Waits. Also, wish I could get some copies of Fabo from D4L's new single, "Scotty," but they seem to be pretty hard to come by. That, and the Andre 3000 / Jim Jones remix of Unk's "Walk It Out," but we'll hopefully have that on Killah Kuts this week... Anyway, if you wanna check the Fabo song, he's got it on his MySpace or Catchdubs mixed it into the new FADER podcast.
